Detroit Chamber Winds Concert

Detroit's cutting edge contemporary ensemble comprised mainly of DSO musicians hosts an exciting performance featuring husband and wife duoErik and Adrienne Rönmark, and the New Music Detroit team at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 850 S Old Woodward Ave. in Birmingham.

Mom-To-Mom Sale

The Groves Fashion Club will host the Birmingham Groves High School Mom-to-Mom Sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. Tables can be rented through Jan. 20 by contacting Kristen Erickson at 248-203-3538. Groves is located 20500 W. 13 Mile Rd. in Beverly Hills.

Awareness & Self Defense Workshop

Join Carole Morrone for a lesson on personal safety and how to become aware of how to use your body in order to stay safe in dangerous situations at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Baldwin Public Library. Morrone is a 6th Degree Black Belt and instructor in Japanese Shotokan Karate.

Chamber Music at Detroit Country Day

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit will present cellist David Geringas and pianist Ian Fountain at the Seligman Performing Arts Center, in their first appearances on the CMSD series Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.
The Seligman Performing Arts Center is located at 22305 West 13 Mile Rd. on the campus of Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills. Tickets are $30 - $60, and student tickets at $15 - $24, and available by at 248-855-6070 or online at www.chambermusicdetroit.org.

Cross Cultural Concert at Manresa

Manresa Jesuit Retreat House in Bloomfield Hills offers a cross cultural experience of Jewish folk music and Arabic-themed music performed by the Klezmer Fusion Band and Wisaal at 3 p.m. Sunday. p.m. An afterglow is to follow. Tickets are $25 and available at 248 644-4933.
