City Commission


Birmingham city commissioners will meet at 7:30 p.m. tonight at City Hall. Agenda items include appointments to the Parking Advisory Committee, Historic District Commission and the Design Review Board. 


Lily pads and golf courses

The Birmingham Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Public Services Building conference room. The board will discuss dredging Quarton Lake due to the ongoing lily pad problem, and the overall lake management plan. The board also plans to discuss the golf course report and financials.

Patriot Week

Oakland County Circuit Court Judge and Patriot Week co-founder Michael Warren will discuss how our country's patriotism is at risk and local measures under way to combat it through education, civic holidays and other reforms at 1 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Birmingham Area Senior Center, 2121 Midvale Street. Chamber Coffee

The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce will host a meet-and-greet at the Huntington Bank Wealth Advisors Group, located at 220 Park St. Suite 106 in Birmingham from 8-9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Diamonds at Twilight

Enjoy the beauty of Cranbrook Gardens and the Cranbrook Institute of Science at the same time during this special event starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Savor hors d’oeuvres and dessert during this progressive event that features private looks through the Cranbrook Institute of Science telescope and the amazing artifacts in the institute's collection. Tickets are $50 (members) and $55 (non-members.)
