Snow Days and Chamber After Hours In and Around Birmingham This Week

Back In School

Students in the Birmingham Public Schools and private schools in and around Bloomfield Hills will resume classes this week following the winter holiday break. But exactly when is dependent on the weather. The severe snow storm prompted district officials to cancel Monday's return before sundown Sunday. A deep drop in temperatures expected to follow the snow made a Tuesday start problematic, and the district already cancelled the return the classes late Monday morning. 

Community House, Art Center 'Snow Day'

Schools weren't the only local entities to close doors Monday due to the heavy snow. The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center will remain closed throughout the day, and The Community House cancelled all morning classes, but plans to be open Monday even for its 6 p.m. schedule.

Chamber After Hours

The Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce hosts the only Business After Hours gathering of the month at The Corner, located inside the landmark Townsend Hotel in Birmingham at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8. Register on the chamber's website. Admission is $10 for members in advance, and $20 for non-members.
