See what's happening in Birmingham and plan your week. Have an event to add? Feel free.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. would have celebrated his 85th birthday Monday had he lived to 2014. To honor the civil rights leader and iconic American, the Birmingham Public Schools and several other local schools will closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as will several municipal buildings and offices. See a list of what will remain open, and where you can pay tribute to King with other members of the community at some local events.
