Exploring the Sea

Learn about what it's like to explore the sea from beneath with a scuba demonstration by avid divers, Pat and Randy Judd, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at the Baldwin Public Library. The Judds will discuss their trips to some of the most sought-after destinations, and show their equipment, film of actual dives and more during  this Battle of the Books event

Circle of Friends Luncheon: Benefit CARE House

Help support CARE House of Oakland County in its mission to provide a safe haven for parents and children victimized by abuse at an annual fundraising luncheon Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Townsend Hotel. John Walsh, host of America's Most Wanted, author, and victim's rights advocate, is the featured speaker, and Gov. Rick Snyder will be in attendance as the afternoon's honored guest. Tickets are available by calling (248) 332-7173.

Elementary Blood Drive

January is generally a slow time for blood donations in both Michigan and around the country. But that doesn't mean the need isn't there. You can help at Bingham Farms Elementary School, which will host a blood drive from 1-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at the school. Call 248-203-3382 for more information and reservations.
