30 Days of Giving, Day 17: Love INC

Donate money to a clearinghouse that lends a hand in a variety of ways.

This is part of a 30-day series of ways Patch community members can give back this holiday season. We hope you'll take part in this 30 Days of Giving and take the spirit beyond the holidays, because there truly is need all year long.

Help ensure everyone in need is covered this holiday season

Love In the Name of Christ (INC) of North Oakland County is a Lake Orion-based nonprofit organization that serves as a clearinghouse, meaning people can call Love INC for help with food, rent, utilities, clothing and more and be directed to the appropriate organization. Though Love INC does help individuals itself it first contacts other area agencies, nonprofits and churches in the area to fit that person’s needs, including the Rochester Neighborhood House, Lighthouse and DHS, among others.

For needs that other organizations aren’t able to meet, Love INC steps in and works to properly supply individuals with what they need. For that purpose, Love Inc is always looking for monetary donations so they can help out in any situation. Monetary donations can be made online at www.lakeorion.loveincofnoc.org. Interested donors can also download a donation form from its website and send a donation via mail to P.O. Box 104, Lake Orion, MI 48362.

In addition to acting as a clearinghouse, Love INC also has a Household Goods Ministry, Clothes Closet and Personal Needs Ministry. These ministries and programs are located in area churches, staffed by volunteers so people in need can go and receive items for free. For this reason, Love INC is always in need of volunteers. To volunteer your time at Love INC call (248) 693-4357 or email info@loveincofnoc.org.
