With 2 Home Games, It's a Big Night For Birmingham Football

Seaholm and Groves both have home games this week, with MHSAA cameras projected to be at Falcon Field.

Friday will be a big night for football in Birmingham, with two home games on the schedule for the varisty teams at and .

Things kick off at Maple Field at 7 p.m., where Seaholm will face Detroit Country Day. The game was nominated for Channel 7's Meijer Game of the Week, but ultimately lost out to the matchup between Cass Tech and Detroit Renaissance.

Seaholm is 2-0 so far this year after defeating Royal Oak at home last week 35-0.

Meanwhile, Groves plays its first home game of the season against Lahser at 7 p.m. Friday. Groves, who is 0-2 this year, fell to Avondale last week 41-6 and Berkley the week before that.

This week, however, the Michigan High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) plans to have its own cameras at the Groves-Lahser game, documenting Lahser's last football season before the school merges with Andover next year.

After the game, Groves will hold a in the school gym. Entrance is $5 and according to Groves principal Fred Procter, the dance will end strictly at 10:59 p.m.
