In Brief: Country Day Girls Head to Hoops Regionals, Groves Heads Home
Cranbrook-Kingswood no match for Yellowjackets; Lathrup eliminates second Birmingham-area team this week.
Cranbrook-Kingswood’s easy run through the girls varsity basketball districts came to an abrupt halt on Friday night when it faced Detroit Country Day and lost 63-29.
The Yellowjackets picked up their third consecutive double-digit win and head into regionals with a lot of momentum. They play Harper Woods-Chandler Park Academy at 7:30 p.m.Tuesday at in the Clawson Class B regional.
Meanwhile, wasn’t able to get past Southfield-Lathrup in its district game on Friday night. The Falcons lost 43-32 to end their season. Earlier in the week, Lathrup eliminated Marian High School, completing its sweep of Birmingham-area teams with the win over Groves.
