Coming Up: Girls Basketball Tournament Heads into Final Stretch

Meanwhile, regional play kicks off for boys basketball with Brother Rice, Detroit Country Day and Roeper contending for class titles.

Here's what's coming up this week in high school playoff action:

It's time to shine for the girls of the Detroit Country Day girls basketball team. This week is the last for the girls tournament, with quarterfinal play beginning Tuesday. Semifinals and finals will be held at the Breslin Center this weekend in Lansing. The lady Yellowjackets easily brushed past their opponent in the Class B regional final, beating Pontiac-Notre Dame Prep 69-42 on March 10.

Meanwhile, the boys basketball tournament heads into regional play. Brother Rice, Detroit Country Day and Roeper last week and will face off on a regional level in their respective divisions. The winners from Monday night's games will play in regional finals Wednesday.

  • Detroit Country Day boys basketball plays Detroit Osborn at Imlay City during the first round of the Class B regional tournament Monday
  • Detroit Country Day girls basketball team plays Goodrich on Tuesday at Linden during its Class B quarterfinal matchup.
  • Roeper boys basketball team will play Plymouth-Christian on Monday during its first regional game for the Class D division.
