Brother Rice’s Andrew Napieraj: Feb. 13-18 Patch Athlete of the Week

Warriors wrestler wins poll this week in a landside with 92 percent of the vote.

wrestler Andrew Napieraj won the Patch Athlete of the Week title for Feb. 13-18 with 1,005 votes after a week of unscientific polling among Oakland County Patch readers, or 92 percent of the votes cast last week.

No other nominee had more than 34 votes on a week several school districts were on mid-winter break.

. He pinned Seaholm’s Tim List in the finals bout.

Dre Smith – Royal Oak High School (boys basketball): Dre Smith drained a buzzer beater from 15-feet out to give Royal Oak a 47-46 win over Lahser.

Shwan Shadaia – Rochester High School (wrestling): Shwan Shadaia was one of  at L’Anse Creuse.

Nick Gajdzik – Stoney Creek High School (wrestling): Stoney Creek senior Nick Gajdzik (285) regional title pinning all three of his opponents at the L’Anse Creuse regional.

Allison Kohl – West Bloomfield High School (skater): skates on the Crystallettes Senior team, based in Dearborn. Her team won for Team USA at the Neuchatel Trophy in Neuchatel, Switzerland.
