School Board Approves 23 More Teachers for 2012-12 School Year

The new teachers are working everywhere from the Lincoln Alternative School to West Maple Elementary.

Though the school year is already more than a week old, the Birmingham Board of Education continues to approve new teachers for the 2012-13 school year.

The school board approved 16 new Birmingham teachers at its Tuesday night meeting while approving seven at its Aug. 14 meeting.

James De Wald: PE teacher at Bingham Farms Elementary and Seaholm High School; comes to Birmingham with four years experience and a Master's degree from Western Michigan University.

Lynne Eckhout: Reading teacher at Bingham Farms Elementary and Derby Middle School; comes to Birmingham with six years teaching experience and a bachelor's and Master's degree from Oakland University.

Ryan Fulkerson: PE teacher at ; comes to Birmingham with no teaching experience and a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Chad Hodgkins: International Academy teacher; comes to Birmingham with 12 years experience and a bachelors from Michigan State University.

Patrick Hoover: Science teacher at and ; come to Birmingham with one year teaching experience and a bachelor's degree from Oakland University.

Amanda Husband: Art teacher at ; comes to Birmingham with eight years teaching experience at a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois.

Scott Kefgen: teacher; comes to Birmingham with three years teaching experience and a Master's degree from Wayne State University.

Denise Kring: Life skills teacher at Berkshire Middle School; comes to Birmingham with seven years teaching experience and a bachelor's and Master's degree from Eastern Michigan University.

David Kuderka: Social studies teacher at Berkshire Middle School; comes to Birmingham with six years teaching experience and a bachelor's and Master's degree from Trenton State University.

Allison Lee: West Maple Elementary teacher; comes to Birmingham with nine years teaching experience and a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.

Joseph Leibson: Spanish teacher at ; comes to Birmingham with no teaching experience and a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.

Miroslav Manovski: Vocal music teacher at Bingham Farms Elementary; comes to Birmingham with six years experience; a bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. from Oakland University.

Michael Munaco: Business teacher at Seaholm High School; comes to Birmingham with three years teaching experience, a bachelor's degree from Northwood University and a Master's degree from Wayne State University.

Nancy Nienstedt: Spanish teacher at Berkshire Middle School and Seaholm High School; comes to Birmingham with two years teaching experience and a bachelor's degree from Oakland University.

Christina Quigley: Spanish teacher at West Maple Elementary; comes to Birmingham with no teaching experience and a bachelor's degree from Oakland University.

Nancy Roth: West Maple Elementary teacher; comes to Birmingham with 11 years experience, a bachelor's from Michigan State University and a Master's degree from Walden University.
