Roeper Students Donate More Than $2,000 to Michigan Humane Society

Roeper second and third grade students opened a gift store featuring recycled and reused items to raise money for the Michigan Humane Society.

Second- and third-graders from the Roeper Lower School continued their tradition of turning what many consider trash into treasure by opening a recycling and reusing gift store. The store was only open for four days, but the students raised $2,435.23 for the Michigan Humane Society.

The students presented a check the Michigan Humane Society's Event Coordinator Sarah Nagel on Jan. 9.

"It costs an average of $156 to transform the life of one animal, so this donation will make a big difference," she said.
