Patch Asks: How Was Your First Day of School?
Many students said they enjoyed their first day back at Birmingham Public Schools.
Tuesday marked the first day of school for all students in the Birmingham Birmingham Public School district.
Upon dismissal, children ran out the door of to find their parents and tell them all about their first day of school. Many said they enjoyed their time at recess and meeting new friends the best, while others admitted they were ready to be back in school learning again.
"I met a lot of new people and that was fun," said Lucy Weiner, a first grade student at Quarton said.

Likewise, Quarton third grader Audrey Dadamio said her day was really fun.
"I'm most looking forward to learning how to do cursive (this year)," Dadamio said.
