Feature Photo: Groves Marching Band Gives Back

The students organized their first food drive just in time for the holidays.

It will be merry Christmas for many in Metro Detroit, thanks to the Groves High School marching band.

The student musicians at Groves held their first ever food drive this year, later delivering the goods to Doherty Elementary in West Bloomfield as well to various other student groups at Groves. The food collected will now be donated to young people in need all over Metro Detroit.

Yesterday on my street, I saw a tree, on city property, with 'stuff' piled high around the base ofRead More the tree. I tried to tell the two gentlemen there it would eventually kill the tree. 'Not so!' they replied, according to, I believe, their landscaper. They then proceeded to try and placate this nosy gray haired woman. Maybe someone from the city could clue them in??
