Extreme Wind Chill Closes Birmigham-Area Schools Friday

Frigid temperatures will keep students out of the classrooms for the fourth time this month.

Students in the Birmingham Public Schools will have another 'snow' day Friday, Jan. 24, as Southeast Michigan remains under a wind chill advisory tonight through Friday morning.

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will drop to as low as -5 overnight, and with the wind chill could feel like -25 to -30 degrees.

The district closed for three consecutive days due to wintry weather conditions caused by the Polar Vortex earlier this month.

Birmingham and Bloomfield-area private schools will also be closed Friday, as will several public schools in several surrounding communities, including Bloomfield Hills and West Bloomfield.
