Kids Against Hunger

As part of a national service day campaign, Martin Luther King Jr. Day workshops in the school cafeteria will teach families, students, scout groups and sports teams about efforts to combat hunger and hunger-related diseases.

  • Activity: Food packages will be assembled and boxed to be sent to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen on Detroit's esst side, to as well as overseas to Kenya in Africa.
  • Donation: Participants can bring canned food to be given to City Mission, which serves the Brightmoor community in Detroit.
  • Sponsors: Birmingham Public Schools, Pembroke Elementary School, Harlan Elementary School, West Maple Elementary School, Roeper School, Kensington Community Church.
