Birmingham Schools Honor Patriot Week

Students at several Birmingham schools paid tribute to America and patriotism during Patriot Week, which started locally and concluded Sept. 17.

Students in the Birmingham Public Schools celebrated Patriot Week and Constitution Day with an array of activities last week. The seven-day period that bridges Sept. 11 and Constitution Day — started locally with Oakland County Circuit Judge Michael Warren and his teen-age daughter of Beverly Hills — celebrates our unique history.

Beverly Elementary School students raised their new flag and sang the national anthem on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in honor of Constitution Day, district officials said. Fifth grade Safety Squad students also worked with teacher Mary Beth Pardington to raise the new flag.
