• Why Go: Do you miss the back-and-forth of politics even though the election is over? Former Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum will be in Troy Friday evening for the Waterford-based Oakdale Academy's Liberty Campaign Dinner, an event that will raise money for the private school.
  
  "The Mission of Oakdale Academy is to instill Character, Truth, and Wisdom in our students in such a way that when they leave us at graduation, they are truly prepared for a life of service to God, country, community, and family," said Rachel Greb, headmistress at Oakdale. “We chose Mr. Santorum because he stands for the same conservative values that represent our school.”
