Bloomfield Hills in the Crossfire in New Anti-Romney Ad

The MoveOn.org liberal PAC debuts a new mini-documentary titled "The Man From Bloomfield Hills" Today.

With all the attention GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is sure to get following tonight's capstone speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention, his Democratic opponents and their surrogates are not sitting idly by.

And , where Romney grew up and attended , appears to be in the crosshairs. MoveOn.org, the liberal political policy and political action committee, is about to unveil a mini-documentary about President Obama's opponent in November titled The Man From Bloomfield Hills.

According to the group's Facebook page, the online 'cinematic event' requires registration and will showcase Romney's roots and tell the "true story."

The movie trailer — posted to YouTube.com on Aug. 27 and just short of 40,000 views Thursday afternoon — takes predictable shots at Bloomfield's gated communities, exclusive golf courses and priveleged schools.

Hey John, you appear to be taking this rather personally. I post about Willard "Mitt" Romney, and you decide to have a go at me in response? If you're looking for resentment, you might want to check the nearest mirror. The only thing of interest in your polemical screed is that 85% figure. Indeed, I have two uncles who were in the Army then who didn't do a tour in 'Nam (one, a retired sergeant major, spent many years in West Germany; the other, an ROTC grad who served in South Korea some 21 years before I did). Your figure also includes Grorge W. Bush and Dan Quayle (both National Guard), John Boehner (discharged from Navy after 8 weeks), Mitch McConnell (USAR, discharged after 1 month in '67) and a host of others of that age group who found any excuse to not join at all: Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, John Engler, Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly...and yes, Bill Clinton. Point being, the Republicans who barely served or never served -- like Mitt Romney -- are often the most gung-ho about flexing America's military and sending others to fight. Vote Romney/Ryan in 2012...get War with Iran in 2013? If you just thought "Hell Yeah!" to that, you MIGHT be a Republican chicken hawk.

I'm with you, Sebastian!!
Susan V September 01, 2012 at 02:09 PM
Not only Obama's college records are secret! What about the backing he had to have from his marxist buddies in order to have the money to get where he is! He was groomed for the presidency by a lot of unsavory people! Send him packing!
Susan V September 01, 2012 at 02:13 PM
HOORAY!!!! My sentiments completely!
Susan V September 01, 2012 at 02:16 PM
Relax, Greg! This isn't about you!
Greg Thrasher September 01, 2012 at 02:52 PM
Susan, I am quite relaxed your comment to me makes no sense. My comments not yours were in regard to Jack's indictment of Detroit and referencing issues in Detroit which have nothing to do with this topic. I tire of people always deflecting and inserting their bias about the Detroit especially when it has nothing to do with an issue or it is full of fiction and sterotypes about Black residents of the city. I have little regard for intellectual cowards who play the 'race card' our nation's ugly legacy of segregation, disparate treatment etc is enough to fill centuries of anger and inequality no need to bring those pathologies to this site.
Mary September 01, 2012 at 03:51 PM
I'm sure homeland security has much better things to do than bother with Internet comments. That was the stupidest THREAT I've ever heard. Your comments should be consider void if you can't understand simple concepts.
Greg Thrasher September 01, 2012 at 05:04 PM
Mary Unlike you apparently I am a patriot and I will report all threats against our president to Homeland Security clearly they have the budget to handle these types of offenses targeting our commander in chief . BTW please spare me your snarky insults it is revealing how people like you make excuses for those who have contempt for our values . Please refrain from giving quarter to those who seek to harm us and our American institutions.

Why not Vote Democrat. We can have Sharpton, Jesse and Sandra Fluke lead the victory parade through Macomb, Detroit and Oakland Counties.
RB September 01, 2012 at 06:06 PM
Does this video mean that someone that has money should not be ALLOWED to run for president? I thought we were looking for the best qualified . . .
albertoEss September 01, 2012 at 06:18 PM
Dear RB: I AGREE Can you smell RACISM in this video?. You can consider this video RACIST because most people who have succeeded and have money in America are white. They got there by their own decisions. THEY DID IT....ON THEIR OWN....someone else didn't do it for them.
Diana L Sibel September 01, 2012 at 06:29 PM
I lived in Bloomfield Hills 1995 to 1970. Back then people worked and had a chance. When the greedy bums took over and greed was there model. They bankrupted our country. Bush two wars, tax breaks for the rich, prescription drugs. Banks and brokerages, real estate scams hurt all americans. Bush raised the dept to 13 trillion.
albertoEss September 01, 2012 at 07:00 PM
Darn that Bush! .........And those greedy Capitalists who helped build America. They should never have been trusted. Ha! What America needs is more Obamas, Pelosis, Reids, Holders, Barney Franks with Sharpton and Jesse leading the march of these liberal wackos. Obama's racial division of America must come to an end. May the Michigan middle class vote swing Michigan to Romney on November 6th .

Boston, MA United States “Let me tell you, if you have a coach that's 0-23 million, you say it's time to get a new coach. It’s time for America to see a winning season again and we're going to bring it to them.” –Mitt Romney

Debbie Thomas September 01, 2012 at 07:52 PM
I can't agree with with the 'did it on their own" concept. Every human being who reaches adulthood has been cared for by family, friends, institutions and professionals. Everyone has a different set of cards. Then on top of that some play their hands better than others. But I really believe in the reality of each of us being each other's keeper. From that notion comes the sense of gratitude that makes each of us happy.

RX OBAMAgra ..."For liberal-socialist enhancement. If effect lasts more than 3 yrs discard immediately and Seek help w a Republican. "
albertoEss September 01, 2012 at 09:05 PM
Whatever. I just hope Obama checks all the closets at the White House when he moves out in January to be sure he takes Michelle with him.
Greg Thrasher September 02, 2012 at 01:56 PM
The GOP remains stuck in backwardness if the GOP fully embraced the new world era it really could be a party for America. Yet it continues to project a profile which is insular, privledged, exclusionary and lacking vision.

2 SEP 2012: Rasmussen Reports Daily Presidential Tracking Poll: Romney 48%, Obama 44%
albertoEss September 02, 2012 at 04:23 PM
As an American I am not interested in the Obama Cult's new world era. I am interested in a the good American era for all Americans, especially the middle class. Obama has not and cannot deliver this. That's why Barack HUSSEIN Obama MUST GO!
Time for a change September 04, 2012 at 05:40 PM
If you have little regard for cowards who play the race card then why are you a Democrat? C'mon now, they are constantly playing the race card.
Herb Helzer September 04, 2012 at 08:34 PM
As an American I am not interested in posters who don't dare come out from behind their pseudonyms and screen names when posting hateful, inflammatory crap. Greg and I OWN our comments. So do Debbie Thomas and Diana L. Sibel. If "Janet" took that step, we'd be at 100%. Let's see who's taking the R side of this discussion: Mercy Warren, John Saylor and Marc J. DeLuca -- Kudos for using your real names. But the rest of you... "Sebastian" "Susan V" "Mary" "RB" "Time for a change" "TaterSalad" Time to step up and OWN your words -- or do nothing and admit your cowardice to everyone who sees this page in future.
Herb Helzer September 04, 2012 at 08:37 PM
Almost forgot about you, "Nunya Biznas" -- same challenge. Put your name to your words, or slink away in your failure and cowardice.
albertoEss September 04, 2012 at 09:49 PM
Dear Herb:: HA! You don;t happen to be one of the academia savants. You say "Failure and cowardice?" Could you be referring to the man now sitting in the oval office.
Greg Thrasher September 04, 2012 at 10:07 PM
Herb, Ditto!!.I have always been the author and owner of my words and activism of course there is a price to pay for being transparent it has brought me death threats, employment termination and many in Birmingham have label and treated me like a pariah especially when the issue involves RACE

The disrespectful, arguably threatening post by Nunya Biznas clearly violates Patch terms of service for civil discussion, as well as any reasonable definition of decency, and should have been removed three days ago. I am contacting regional editors to urge that they do so.
Greg Thrasher September 04, 2012 at 10:35 PM
Glad God is not a part of DEMS platform USA is a secular nation thank god ... Lol lol lol

MoveOn.org did that despicable ad against our top military commander calling General David Petraeus, "General Betray Us. This is a garbage outfit.
