A resident in the 1200 block of Melton told police on Tuesday that surgical glasses and a headlamp were taken from her vehicle overnight, reports said. The victim parked in the driveway and left the vehicle unlocked. The break-in reportedly occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 29. No suspect information was available.
Another resident just down the street in the 1300 block of Melton reported a similar incident Tuesday morning. She told police that someone entered her vehicle and rummaged through the glove box. Nothing was reported stolen. The vehicle was parked in the street near her driveway and was unlocked, reports said. No suspect information was available. The crime occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
A resident in the 600 block of Kimberly reported his black 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen overnight Monday. It was parked it in the street near the driveway and unlocked, with the keys inside. No suspect information was available.
Earlier this month, the department issued to warning to residents about leaving valuables in vehicles and locking doors after taking numerous reports of vehicle break-ins in a one-week span. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
