Troy Man Arrested in Hamilton Room Incident; Tools Taken from Construction Site

Troy man pushes over bar cash register at closing time

Police arrested a 24-year-old Troy man early Sunday morning after he pushed over a cash register at the  in Birmingham.

According to police reports, the man was leaving the nightclub around 2:05 a.m. when he pushed over a cash register, telephone and touch-screen computer on the hostess counter.

The man attempted to flee the business, reports state, but he was soon after taken into custody by officers standing outside the bar. The man was charged with malicious destruction of property and released with a court date.

Jewelry missing from home, screw guns taken from construction site

Birmingham police responded to several incidents of larceny last weekend, including:

  • Five Dewalt screw guns and eight spools of 500-foot wire were taken from the gas station construction site at 36101 Woodward Ave. sometime May 3-4.
  • A woman reported her iPhone was taken from her purse while she was at the around 2 a.m. Saturday.
  • Several pieces of jewelry were reported taken from a residence on the 300 block of Frank Street between March 29-May 5. There was no sign of forced entry.
