Theft at Common Ground Art Fair; Vehicle Stolen

The Birmingham Police Department seeks information that may identify suspects in two cases from the past week.


A vendor at the Common Ground Art Fair reported that someone took a sterling silver/24 K gold necklace with two leaf pendants off a mannequin on display on Sept. 21. The vendor said the theft occurred sometime between 4 p.m. and 4: 30 p.m., reports said. Police said no suspect or witness information was available. No other incidents from the fair were reported to authorities. 

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating the theft of a vehicle from the 1800 block of Hazel Street on Sept. 24, reports said. The 1999 Honda Accord with a Michigan plate BME 4034 was parked on the south side of the street and was last seen there shortly after 10 p.m. The theft occurred sometime before 7 a.m. No suspect information was available.
