Teens Arrested with Air Gun, Marijuana; Kroger Shoplifting; Wheel Cover Thefts

The following is a roundup of recent reports:

Teen held for disorderly conduct, found with soft air gun

A Troy teen was arrested on disorderly conduct charges early Monday morning following a public argument at the corner of Torry and Webster.

According to police reports, witnesses reported seeing two groups of young men yelling at each other around 6:55 a.m. Monday. One of the boys appeared to have a handgun, the witness said. The teen with the suspected handgun got into a car with two others, then drove away, reports state.

Responding officers stopped the vehicle at Villa and Adams, and according to reports, officers found a black, soft, plastic air gun with the orange tip removed in the car. The teen — an 18-year-old — was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. The other teens were released at the scene and police aren't sure who was in the original group of teens.

Troy teens had marijuana, drug paraphernalia in car, police say

Two teens from Troy were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia June 8.

Officers stopped the 18-year-old's vehicle around 1:15 p.m. June 8 near Lincoln and Ann for not wearing seatbelts. according to reports, the officers could strongly smell what they believed to be marijuana, and a search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of suspected marijuana and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Police: Royal Oak man tried to take beer, toothbrush from Kroger

A 53-year-old Royal Oak man was arrested Saturday for allegedly trying to steal a six pack of beer, one can of beer and a toothbrush from . The incident occurred around 10 a.m., police say, and the man was detained by store employees until police arrived.

Wheel caps, covers taken from Cadillac Escalades

Several items were reported taken from Birmingham homes and cars last week:

  • Four wheel caps were taken from a Cadillac Escalade while it was parked overnight June 7-8 on the 800 block of Oakland.
  • Four wheel covers were taken from a Cadillac Escalade parked in a driveway on the 700 block of Tottenham sometime between June 7-8.
  • An air conditioner compressor near the back of , 33278 Woodward, was taken apart sometime between June 5-7. All the copper tubing was removed.
