, identified by fingerprints he left at the scene of the Chase bank robbery. A bank surveillance photo also matched the suspect’s driver's license photo.

Detectives tried to arrest Christian the week after the robbery at his last known address in Troy, but he was not there, Detective Matt Baldwin said. Kiernan said after a week, Christian’s family wasn’t sure if he had left the state.

During the robbery, a man fitting Christian's description handed the teller at the Chase bank a note saying: “I want all the money. Don’t touch me or I’ll kill you.” No weapon was shown, police said.

The man fled the scene, jumping into a bright yellow Mustang waiting on Poppleton Street near the supermarket’s rear parking lot. Kiernan said there are no suspects yet for the driver.

Grosse Pointe police picked up Christian Tuesday while trying to stop a vehicle reported stolen in Hazel Park. A short chase ensued, police said, and the vehicle was found a short distance away. Kiernan said the suspect, later identified as Christian, was seen running away from the car and was later found hiding by a K9 unit. Kiernan said Christian was found with the car's keys in his pocket.

Two other people were in the car with Christian, Grosse Pointe Det. Christopher Lee said. One was released at the scene while the other, a teenage runaway, was taken to a juvenile detention center downtown.

Grosse Pointe police will not be charging Christian, though Lee said Hazel Park officials will be handling charges stemming from the stolen car.

Kiernan said if convicted, Christian could face up to 20 years in prison.
