Stolen Bikes, Burglary Reported in Birmingham

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, to not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department investigated a burglary report in the 600 block of Humphrey Street last week, police reports said. A resident discovered various coins were stolen from the home when they returned on July 14. A rear door was open, but there were no signs of forced entry. 

The homeowners told officers they may have forgotten to lock the door, and could not provide any possible suspects. The theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. July 12 and 11 a.m. July 14. 

Larcenies

Birmingham police officers investigated multiple larceny reports involving bicycles during the past week. On July 12, an employee at the Pancake House told police her bike was stolen from the alley behind the restaurant sometime before 8 p.m., reports said. 

The bike was unlocked, and no suspect information was available. 

Officers also took a report from a resident wh said his bike was taken from outside the Forst Hills Swim Club on July 12. The bike was locked and was left at the club overnight. No suspect information was available.
