Police Investigate Multiple Larcenies in Birmingham

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following reports. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the department at 248-530-1870.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department responded to several larceny reports last week. In addition to the theft of a Rolex and cash from lockers at the Birmingham Family YMCA, these incidents were highlighted in recent reports.

  • A customer having lunch at the Panera Bread told police someone stole her iPhone 5 from her table on Nov. 25. The victim said she inadvertently left it on the table when she left and it was gone when she returned for it a short time later. The phone is white, with a purple Otter Box case. No suspect information was available. The theft occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
  • Employees at the new UPS Store at 33717 Woodward Ave., reported a print production computer tower was stolen from their store sometime overnight on Nove. 20, reports said. Police said there was no sign of forced entry and that the investigation is ongoing.
  • A resident in the 1100 block of Webster Street reported a necklace was stolen from her jewelry box the same day a contractor was working in the house on Nov. 21. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Employees at Fleming's reported five Apple iPads were stolen from the hostess area last month. The staff used the iPads to display their wine list. No suspect information was available and the investigation is ongoing. The thefts reportedly occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on Nov. 10 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 13, reports said.
