Police Blotter: Table Breaks During Fight at Leo's Coney Island

In another Birmingham incident, a 15-year-old breaks a car window during a fight with another teenager.

Fight at Leo's empties restaurant

are investigating a fight that broke out at around 1:50 a.m. March 13  after one of men involved, a 24-year-old from Sterling Heights, made a report for assault and battery the next day.

According to police reports, the man said after he and his girlfriend entered the restaurant that night, he saw a family friend at another table. The man said this friend then “head-butted” him, knocking him down. Another man began hitting him in the face while someone else, the man claims, kicked him in the back of the head. The man was thrown onto a table, which broke, sending him crashing to the floor.

When police arrived, with additional units from Bloomfield Hills,  everyone had left the restaurant, including the two men involved in the fight. At the time, no one wanted to make a report. After hearing the man’s report the following morning, Birmingham police called the two alleged attackers, a 24-year-old and 25-year-old from Shelby Township, but they each claimed the other man started the fight.

15-year-old punches through car window during fight

Police are searching for a 15-year-old boy after a fight erupted between two teenagers March 10. According to police reports, a 17-year-old boy from Birmingham was picking up his friend near the corner of South Adams Road and Webster Street around 4:50 p.m. Another vehicle pulled up, reports state, with the 15-year-old in the passenger seat, who the first boy knew from school.

The 15-year-old approached the first car and accused the first boy of doing something with a girl he knows. He then punched the 17-year-old, who was still sitting in his car, in the face. When the 17-year-old rolled up the window, the 15-year-old punched the window until it broke. At that point, police say one of the boys called police and the 15-year-old and his driver, a 16-year-old, left the scene before the police arrived. The 17-year-old was treated by paramedics and released on the scene.
