Outdoor Chairs Taken from Forest Grill; Man Reports Rock Thrown at Car

Deck chairs go missing from Forest Grill

Three chairs from the are still missing after being taken from outside the Triangle District restaurant over the Labor Day weekend.

According to police reports, Forest Grill employees reported Tuesday that 10 patio chairs had been taken from the front of the restaurant. Employees told police the chairs had a cable running through them with both ends of the cable then locked. Sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, employees said, the cable had been cut and the chairs taken.

Responding officers later discovered seven of the missing chairs in some bushes outside an Adams Street apartment complex, a few blocks away. Police are still investigating the whereabouts of the three missing chairs.

No suspects after man reports someone threw a rock at his car

There are no suspects after a man witnessed someone throw a rock at his parked car on Oakland Road Monday. According to police reports, the man had just parked his car in the 800 block of Oakland, near Poppleton, around 1:25 a.m. when he saw what he described as a new SUV traveling northbound on Poppleton. An unknown person leaned out and threw a rock from the SUV, hitting the man's car and causing damage to the side mirror. The SUV then quickly drove off and the man reported he was unable to copy down the SUV's license plate.

Navigation system stolen from parked car over holiday weekend

A navigation system was taken from a car parked off Woodward Avenue over the Labor Day weekend. According to police reports, the car was in a parking lot in the 35000 block of Woodward Sept. 1-5. When the owner returned on Monday, they discovered the driver's window smashed in and the navigation system—worth approximately $500—missing.
