Multiple Vehicle Break-ins Reported on Yorkshire

The Birmingham Police Department responded to four larceny reports from the same neighborhood early Wednesday morning.


Officers with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating several vehicle larcenies reported on Yorkshire and nearby Dorchester street earlier this week. 

  • Residents in the 2700 block of Yorkshire reported sunglasses and $2 in change were missing from a vehicle parked in the driveway Wednesday morning, police reports said. The theft likely occurred between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Police found no signs of forced entry, and there were no witnesses. 
  • Residents in the 2100 block of Yorkshire reported a blue 2005 Volvo XC90 was stolen from their driveway overnight Tuesday. The keys to the vehicle were inside the home, reports said. There were no witnesses.
  • A resident in the 1700 block of Yorkshire on Wednesday morning reported two GPS navigation units and three pairs of sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle overnight. The vehicle was believed to be locked, but officers found no sign of forced entry, according to reports. There were no witnesses.
  • A resident in the 2500 block of Dorchester, just a block from Yorkshire, reported a briefcase and laptop were taken from his vehicle overnight. The vehicle was in the driveway but unlocked between 9 p.m. Tuesday and about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, reports said. There were no witnesses.
