Multiple Alcohol, Drug-Related Arrests in Birmingham

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department made multiple arrests related to drug activity or suspicion of operating while under the influence over the past week. Here are the incidents highlighted from recent police reports. 

  • An 18-year-old Macomb Township man was cited for minor in possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle after officers found him passed out in a car with the window broken out early in the morning on June 29, reports said. Officers were dispatched to the  the 600 block of Bloomfield Court at about 7:30 a.m. and found the man inside the vehicle. He was held on bond until sober and released pending a court date.
  • An officer witnessed a man without a shirt and a woman walking on Pierce toward Townsend at about 4:30 a.m. on July 1. When the officer approached them, he realized the man was not wearing shoes and was limping with a bloody toe. The 21-year-old Royal Oak man said he and the woman, 20, were drinking and that he tripped and injured his toe. Police arrested the Royal Oak woman and cited her for minor in possession of alcohol, reports said. The man was not seriously injured. 
  • An officer pulled a vehicle over that had a break light out on Woodward near Sheffield at about 6:30 a.m. on July 2. The driver, a 33-year-old Detroit woman, was arrested for not having a valid license and being in possession of marijuana, reports said. She was cited for for possession of a controlled substance and driving with an invalid license. Court dates are pending.
