Moosejaw Struck by Shoplifters Again in Birmingham

The latest retail fraud involving expensive parkas was the third incident reported to authorities since July.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating a retail fraud at the Moosejaw Mountaineering store reported last week.

The store manager called police after a man stole two Canada Goose Expedition Parkas from the store at about noon on Dec. 27, reports said. The man grabbed the jackets and ran outside to a waiting red Dodge Charger that in the parking lot.

Police said a witness took a photo of the license plate and police are investigating. The suspect is described as a black man in his 60's with light skin, and salt and pepper hair.

Officers responded to Moosejaw for a shoplifting complaint on July 22, and returned to the store on Oct. 3 when employees reported a khaki Northface Beanie was taken according to Birmingham Police Department reports. Three male suspects were seen holding the Beanie by employees, and it was gone when they left the store.
