Mail, Amazon.com Package Stolen From Birmingham Mailbox

The Birmingham Police Department investigated multiple larcenies recently, including the theft of a resident's mail.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department investigated multiple larceny reports over the past few weeks, including one from a resident who said a mailbox full of items was emptied by a thief. 

A resident in the 2300 block of Derby said they saw the mailbox full late the afternoon on Dec. 5, but when they went to retrieve the items, including a package from Amazon.com, it was empty, police reports said. The theft occurred sometime between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

There were no witnesses, and no suspect information was available.

Other Larcenies

  • A resident in the 200 block of Harmon Street told police that her patio furniture was missing from her patio. The stolen items included a brown wicker Dedon and Panama collection of two chairs, one cocktail table and one sofa. The theft occurred between 7 p.m. Nov. 27 and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29, police reports said. No suspects information was available. 
  • A resident in the 1100 block of Brookwood reported a gun was missing. The gun, a revolver was reportedly taken sometime between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 4. Officers found no signs of forced entry or witnesses. No suspect information was available.
