Fraud Suspects Arrested at Birmingham Bank

The Birmingham Police Department investigated a fraudulent check case and larceny report at Derby Middle School.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department arrested two Detroit women that tried to pass bad checks at a Comerica bank on Tuesday.

Antionette Denise Walker and Skyy Deville Scott, both 21, are charged with uttering and publishing for allegedly trying to cash checks at the Comerica located at 188 North Old Woodward Ave. on Nov. 19.

Police reports said the two women approached a teller at about 4 p.m. with the fraudulent checks. The teller noticed something suspicious and contacted corporate security, which indicated the checks were bogus, Cmdr. Terry Kiernan said. Police arrested the women without incident at the scene.

A magistrate set Walker's bond at $10,000, and she remained at the Oakland County Jail Friday. Jail records show Scott posted her $5,000 bond on Wednesday and is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing next week.
