Caregiver Strikes Patient; Fight Outside Corner Bar

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department arrested two people for separate assaults last week, reports said. 
 
Police responded to a home in the 1900 block of Maple Road for a call about an altercation between two women at about 7:30 a.m. on July 9, reports said. They learned that after following a verbal argument over schedule and pay, a caregiver struck her employer in the face. The caregiver, a 48-year-old woman from Riverview, was arrested, issued a citation for simple assault and given a court date. No injuries were reported.

In the second incident, Birmingham officers observed men arguing outside of the Corner Bar at about 2:30 a.m. on July 6. One man, a 24 year old from La Salle, Ontario, was seen shoving another man in the chest. He was arrested for Assault and later released on bond with a court date.
