Birmingham Seaholm Locked Down Over Weapon Threat

The Birmingham Police Department continues to investigate an anonymous call that prompted officials to lock-down the high school.

Authorities locked down Seaholm High School Monday morning after police received an anonymous call about a person with a weapon inside the building, a news release stated.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department searched the school and found no person of interest, and made no mention of finding a weapon. Further details were not immediately available. Police continue to investigate the call, but said students and staff in the building followed the school's safety procedures very well.

District officials deferred all comment to the police department.
