Birmingham Police Investigate Burglaries at North Eton Cleaners and Dorchester Home

A thief or thieves targeted a business and homes in separate incidents last week, reports said.

Detectives with the Birmingham Police Department investigated multiple burglaries and an attempted home invasion last week, reports said. 

  • Officers responded to North Eton Cleaners, 217 N. Eton, on Oct. 21 and reported the front glass door was shattered. A cash register was found open, but there was no money kept inside, reports said. The break-in occurred at about 5 a.m. No suspect information was available and the investigation is ongoing.
  • A resident in the 2300 block of Dorchester reported a break-in at his home while he was out of town between 7 a.m. Oct. 16 and 3 p.m. Oct. 19, reports said. The intruder or intruders broke the glass on the rear door to get into the home, and  went through nearly every room, including the basement. The resident reported numerous items missing. No suspect information was available.
  • Residents in the 1100 block of Chapin found the window screens to the home moved, and the screen door open when they returned home at about 6 p.m. on Oct. 18, reports said. It did not appear that anyone gained entry and there was no damage. No suspect information was available.
