Birmingham Police Arrest Multiple Drunken Drivers

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department made several arrests for alcohol or drug-related crimes over the past few weeks. Here are the incidents highlighted from recent police reports.

  • Birmingham police arrested a 35-year-old Los Angeles woman that was speeding and under the influence of alcohol in the area of Maple Road and Saint Andrews at about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 20, reports said. Officers issued a citation for operating while intoxicated and a court date is pending.
  • A Birmingham officer responded to a report of a minor traffic accident at Maple and Eton at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 21 Upon arrival, the officer determined that one of the drivers, a 28-year-old Auburn Hills man, was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested, issued a citation for operating while intoxicated and released on bond until a pending court date.
  • A Birmingham police officer arrested a 45-year-old man from Auburn Hills after witnessing the man drive erratically, drift off the road and hit a large boulder in the area of Worthington and Southfield at about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 8, reports said. The driver was under the influence of alcohol and received a citation for operating while intoxicated.
  • A 31-year-old Clarkston man ran a red light in the area of Woodward and Webster at about 2 a.m. Nov. 8 and was determined by police to be under the influence of alcohol, reports said. He was arrested and issued a citation for operating while intoxicated.
  • A 24-year-old Dearborn man was cited for operating while intoxicated after police stopped him speeding in the area of Southfield and Southlawn roads at about 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 7, and determined he was under the influence of alcohol, reports said. He was arrested, issued a citation and received a court date before he was released on bond.
  • A 46-year-old woman from Bloomfield Hills was cited for operating while intoxicated after a Birmingham police officer pulled over her vehicle for running a red light at Maple and Adams at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 7, reports said.
