Birmingham Police Arrest Multiple Drunken Drivers

The Birmingham Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Officers with the Birmingham Police Department made several arrests for alcohol or drug-related crimes over the past week. Here are the incidents highlighted from recent police reports.

  • An Eastpointe man remains at the Oakland County Jail facing charges stemming from his arrest in Birmingham last week, police reports said. An officer on patrol saw  a vehicle speeding and weaving between lane of Woodward Avenue near Manor Street at about 5 a.m. Sept. 29. The driver, 44, was under the influence of alcohol, and police found an open bottle of liquor, a loaded .38 caliber revolver and marijuana inside the vehicle, reports said. Officers arrested him without incident, and is charged with operating while intoxicated, carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of marijuana.
  • A Birmingham officer on patrol stopped a vehicle that had expired plates in the area of Adams Street and Lincoln at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 2, reports said. A passenger, a 19-year old Beverly Hills man, had marijuana and was arrested without incident. He He received a citation for marijuana possession in a motor vehicle and was released on bond pending an upcoming court date.
