Birmingham Man Among 3 Killed in Minnesota Plane Crash

In addition to the three fatalities, another Birmingham man also was severely injured.

John Paul Bergeron, 50, of Birmingham, is among three men who died Friday when a twin engine plane they were flying in crashed in Minnesota, according to a story in the Detroit News.

Berkley resident Dale Edward Garrett, 49, and Troy resident Joel Alan Garrett, 79, also were killed in the crash, according to the report.

Birmingham resident Joseph Samuel Stevens, 61, survived the crash and was transported to a hospital with severe injuries, according to the report. His condition is unknown.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. near the Minnesota-Iowa border.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
