The West African Sounds Of Sunkwa @Downtown at Ann Arbor District Library. Sunkwa was established in 1999 and is comprised of six musicians to explore jazz, pop and world music. The group combines traditional instruments of West Africa, like the gyil (ancient xylophone from Ghana) along with percussion, brass and guitar.

Sister Act at Broadway in Detroit - The Fisher Theatre SISTER ACT is Broadway's musical comedy smash! It's the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look—a convent!

“Tom Sawyer” stage play Terri Park, Director at The Ann Arbor Young Actors Guild. Young actors in grades 2-8 take the stage to reenact small-town life from long ago.

Party for the Planet at Toledo Zoo. Celebrate Earth Day with the Zoo by contributing to our recycling efforts all day, and try some cool activities to help you be a little more green.

Green Fest at Detroit Zoo. The Zoo-wide celebration includes earth-friendly crafts, an endangered species scavenger hunt, animal enrichment activities, zookeeper talks and exhibits by local conservation groups.

Sunday, April 27:


Run with Honor 5K at Lake Erie Metropark. The Brownstown Police and Fire departments have formed a public safety honor guard. This organization has pledged to represent the honor of all public safety personnel and will represent Brownstown public safety services at community special events.



Stories and Crafts: "Henry and Mudge" at the Malletts Creek Library It’s storytelling and a craft, featuring the book series Henry and Mudge! This program corresponds with the Michigan Theater's "Not Just for Kids" performance of Henry & Mudge on Sunday, May 4.
