Time to Thank Your Neighbor, Birmingham!

Who's making a difference in your neighborhood?

The holiday season is long gone, but there's still plenty of good cheer, and good will to go around apparently.

Ever since Sunday's massive snow storm dumped several of inches of snow around the area Patch editors around the region have been hearing about random acts of kindness and neighbors helping out neighbors in big and small ways.

Birmingham Patch reader Suzanne Shields summed it up this way in a recent post:

" . . . the side walk is clear and walkable on both sides - my next door neighbor shoveled his butt off keeping me clear - including driveway - another neighbor has a big blower and she went up and down both sides - helping everyone - THAT IS WHAT A NEIGHBORHOOD IS."

Which got us thinking, do you have a neighbor that deserves a little recognition for what they've done in recent days, or for just making the neighborhood a better place to be?

Give 'em a shout out here on Patch in the comments section!

My next door neighbor and another down and across the street go out of their way to keep my corner lot walks clean. I greatly appreciate their thoughtfulness. They're Nick and Chip. Many thanks. Margaret.

This is my 5th winter on Ruffner, and my next door neighbors Karl and Cindy are just the best! With a snow blower or a shovel, they never miss passing by my sidewalk and driveway. This weekend is no exception: came home to a clean block of two-three driveways and saw Karl shoveling an older couple's drive way across the street. That's what makes Ruffner the best street in town!

I am ever so grateful to my neighbor (two doors south of me), Dr. Jason Peters. Jason is my snow angel. What a blessing to have such a thoughtful and generous neighbor. Thank You, Patricia
