Empty Bowls Soup Supper Benefit

EMPTY BOWLS SOUP SUPPER BENEFIT
The First United Methodist Church of Birmingham invites you to join them for a meal of soup and bread from many of the area’s finest restaurants at their annual “Empty Bowls Soup Supper” on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 5 PM to 8 PM.  All proceeds from the event will go directly to local food banks, soup kitchens and to support the Art & Soul ministry in Detroit.  Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family.

The Art & Soul community, a ministry for the homeless in Detroit, will provide music and arts for the evening and their hand-painted bowls will be available for purchase.  This year, soups and breads will be prepared and donated by the following area restaurants:

100% of the proceeds will be used to fight hunger.  In previous years, through donations and various fundraisers, the First United Methodist Church of Birmingham has donated approximately $40,000 toward charities that provide food to help fight hunger.  Mark your calendars, come for dinner and support a great cause.
