Kidpreneur Digital Girlz Workshop

The Digital Girlz workshop will teach girls aged 10-14 about web development. The goal is to  learn why web development is essential knowledge, how the creative process works, what is inside a webpage and how to program in HTML. The workshop is taught by our very own Erika Carlson.

Erika Carlson is a software engineer who currently works on beautiful mobile applications at Detroit Labs. She is the co-founder of the Detroit chapter of Girl Develop It, a non-profit organization which offers affordable, beginner-friendly programming classes to women. Erika teaches web development at Grand Circus, a tech training institute in downtown Detroit. She loves working with young people and is extremely excited to be joining the Kidpreneur team this year to teach iOS app development. Erika is passionate about the potential of technology to create positive change in the world, and is continually working to create more opportunities for technology education in Detroit.
