Historic Franklin's Sip, Shop and Stroll

While there may be a nip in the air it will be all holiday warmth and cheer on Dec. 6 in Historic Franklin Village as Main Street Franklin sponsors the Third Annual Sip, Shop, & Stroll. With a New England Village feel, Franklin’s one-of-a-kind Village Center offers a compelling reason to make the journey to this little hamlet where you can relish a free massage, sip cordials, and enjoy one of the most friendly holiday shopping experience around.

For Franklin’s merchants, it’s all about providing great service. More than fifteen locally-owned shopkeepers will offer warm beverages, tasty treats and holiday specials between 5 and 8 p.m. “Sip, Shop, & Stroll is a great opportunity for Franklin to showcase one of the best collections of small business owners I’ve seen,” said Vivian Carmody, executive director the Main Street Franklin. “Our retailers are top-notch and incredibly customer focused. Combine that with our charming historic Village Center and you get an experience that’s hard to replicate.”

Special events throughout the Village Center include free chair massages at Fitness Driven, personalized hand painted ornaments at the Village Boutique, an artist showcase at Fritz & Friends, and a holiday wine and beer tasting at the Franklin Grill & Tavern.

“We’re always excited about the holiday season,” said Maureen Movold, Main Street Franklin promotions chair. “It’s a great time of year to promote our one-of-a-kind merchants and charming downtown to the greater Detroit area. Shopping in Franklin brings back the memories many of us had as kids – of a time when Christmas shopping was a relaxed and much anticipated event.”

Main Street Franklin is one of more than 2,000 National Main Street Programs across the U.S. Its goal is to preserve Franklin’s historic business district while creating an attractive and economically viable Village Center that complements Franklin’s natural feel and historic nature.
