End of Season Celebration at Birmingham Farmers Market

The 10th and most successful Birmingham Farmers Market season to date will come to a close with an End of Season Celebration on Sunday, October 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Market organizers welcome the community to attend and celebrate a season that brought large crowds, smiling faces, delicious produce, savory smells and live entertainment to Parking Lot 6 each Sunday.

In addition to fresh produce, pumpkins, gourds, fall-themed floral arrangements and décor, End of Season Celebration attendees will have the opportunity to hop on a hayride, view live pumpkin carving demonstrations, shell corn using an antique corn-sheller, view an old-fashioned kettle corn wagon and enjoy a mini-pumpkin decorating craft for children. Children are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes for some great photo opportunities. Parents, don’t forget your camera.

The lively outdoor market is located in public Parking Lot 6 on the east side of N. Old Woodward (across from Salvatore Scallopini Restaurant and Booth Park). The market offers fresh prepared foods, live music, a children’s craft area and more. From May through October more than 70 booths feature a diverse array of locally and regionally grown produce including organic vegetables, fruits, flowers and garden plants, plus baked goods, and some hand crafted items.
