Metro Times is partnering with Palladium 12, 93.9 The River and Gleaners Community Food Bank to invite you to a night out at the movies while donating to an important cause during the holidays.
The 4th Annual Metro Times Film-anthropy returns on Dec. 6. A donation of three canned goods per person equals one free movie admission ticket valued at $10. Donations to benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank.
The first 1,000 people to bring three canned goods will each receive one free movie admission ticket valued at $10 for Palladium 12 to see the first run movie of their choice (exclusive of 3D films). This is an opportunity for individuals and families to give back to the hungry in their communities while having a fun night out together during the holidays.
For more than 35 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan (Gleaners) has been nourishing communities by feeding hungry people. Gleaners distributes more than 45 million pounds of emergency food to nearly 600 partner pantries, soup kitchens, schools and shelters in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Monroe counties. Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 94 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor. It is recommended that guests arrive early as Film-anthropy is only open to the first 1,000 attendees. Donations consisting of quality canned goods that are not expired nor will not expire within the upcoming months are preferred.
