Eisenhower Dance Presents December Dances

Eisenhower Dance, metro Detroit's premier contemporary dance company, will present December Dances on Friday, December 6 beginning at 8 p.m. A prelude performance with Eisenhower Dance Center student companies will begin at 7:30 p.m.

December Dances will include the first preview of Eisenhower Dances' newest project, The Light Show. Commissioned by the Detroit Opera House and Lansing's Wharton Center for the Performing Arts, The Light Show is a collection of five dances created by five pairs of choreographers and lighting designers. Each will create a new dance which utilizes unique lighting design and equipment.

Artistic Director Laurie Eisenhower will present two works from her repertoire which have become audience favorites over the years. Open Veins is a virtuosic movement piece that showcases the athleticism of the Eisenhower dancers while the second work, Stop, blends folk and modern movement into a kinetic journey.
