Classical Jam at Oakland University, Chamber Music Society of Detroit

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit presents its 1st season at Oakland University. This new concert series, presented in partnership with OU Music, Theatre and Dance, features artists and ensembles of national and international distinction in affordably priced public concerts in Varner Hall.

About Classical Jam:

Jennifer Choi, violin; Cyrus Beroukhim, viola; Wendy Law, cello; Marco Granados, flute; and Justin Hines, percussion, are five brilliant musicians who blend classical tradition and improvisation to create dynamic performances unlike anything else on the concert stage today. Their program, “From the Streets to the Concert Hall,” will explore the way composers throughout history have incorporated their heritages and the popular music of their day into concert music. It will include music by Bach, Piazzolla, Mozart and more.

“True to their name, the members of Classical Jam are capable improvisers and brought plenty of high spirits to their playing."--The Strad Magazine
