Birmingham Elections 2013: Polls Are Closed

The campaigns are just about over as voters cast their ballots at Birmingham's nine polling locations today.




Voters in Birmingham go to the polls today to elect three spots on the city commission.

8 p.m.: 
Polls are closed. Check back with Patch for results and other election-related news.

5 p.m.:
Cmdr. Terry Kiernan of the Birmingham Police Department said there were no election-related calls requiring a police response today. 

Updated 3 p.m.: City Clerk Laura Pierce reported voting is going well at all precincts. Though she did not project turnout specifically for today's election, she did say local elections typically draw 18-20 percent of registered voters.
