Where to Buy Fireworks in Birmingham

The sale of fireworks is an annual tradition in Birmingham, and those brightly decorated sales booths are easy to spot around town.

Effective since 2011, the laws governing fireworks now allow for use and sale of consumer fireworks without a permit. Examples of types of fireworks that would fall into this category include firecrackers, sky lanterns, bottle rockets, roman candles and aerial shells not exceeding 1.75 inches in diameter.

"Low-impact" fireworks, which have been legal in Michigan for quite some time now, include large sparklers, smoke devices, fountains and cones. “Novelty Fireworks” include paper caps, snakes, toy smoke devices, party poppers and common sparklers.
